We could never learn 
to be brave and patient, 
if there were only joy in the world.

Character cannot be developed 
in ease and quiet. 
Only through experience of trial 
and suffering can the soul 
be strengthened, ambition inspired, 
and success achieved.

It is necessary to help others, 
not only in our prayers, 
but in our daily lives. 
If we find we cannot help others, 
the least we can do is 
to desist from harming them.

 dengan orang lain, jangan pernah mencoba
 untuk menyakitinya ya ...)

Do not dwell in the past, 
do not dream of the future, 
concentrate the mind 
on the present moment.

(so, lalui saja apa yang ada di depan ya ...)

Thousands of candles 
can be lighted from a single candle, 
and the life of the candle 
will not be shortened. 
Happiness never decreases 
by being shared.
